Nature Journaling is about observing nature and recording what you experience. We use a combination of text, numbers and drawings. Our attention is more deeply focused when we draw nature, and we begin to see things that we’ve often overlooked.

The goal of nature journaling is to approach nature in a new way, rather than focus on making pretty pictures. It sharpens our awareness, deepens our knowledge and relationship with nature, and inspires curiosity and wonder.

It also slows us down, calms our minds, improves memory, creativity, and joy—a nurturing antidote to a technology-filled life.

In this interactive workshop, Melinda will show you how to keep a nature journal and strategies to record your nature experience. We will practice together, and you’ll leave with activities that take you exploring your nearby nature.

No drawing or nature experience necessary. Just bring a sketchbook/paper, pencil, (and optional colors ) and your curiosity!
