VOTC joins VSMC!

We are pleased to announce that Village of the Coastside (villageofthecoastside.org) has joined Villages of San Mateo County, thus becoming the third local village in this "hub and spoke" structure.  Both organizations have provided exceptional service to their communities, and will now bring even more benefits through their combined leadership, dedication and skills.

Each Village is a group of local residents with the mission of helping each other to age in place. We do this by providing access to support services that help people engage in community activities and continue to live independently. We are a membership-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

We started in 2015 as Sequoia Village, serving members in Belmont, San Carlos and Redwood City, including Redwood Shores. In late 2016 we launched Mid Peninsula Village to serve the communities of San Mateo, Burlingame and Hillsborough. Village of the Coastside was also founded in 2016 and serves the area from Half Moon Bay to Montara.

Please take some time to explore our website and learn about the important value of Villages in their communities.  Villages operate nationwide. You can connect with a Village in your area through the Village To Village Network.

The Village Movement California has created a new video about the value Villages bring to members, volunteers, families and communities:
