Senior Coastsiders is inviting seniors to join the mystery book club. It will be a hybrid meeting at the Senior Coastsiders & on Zoom. This month we‘re discussing To the Land of Long Lost Friends, by Alexander McCall Smith. Books are available at Senior Coastsiders office or from the HMB library. Join members on a walk on the Cowell-Purisima Trail which lies just south of Half Moon Bay. The views of the Pacific, pastoral setting and gentle grade make this arguably one of the most enjoyable trail experiences on the California coast.
Join the Villages to Cruise the San Francisco Bay on board the SF Belle while viewing the Fleet Week Blue Angels Air Show. A sumptuous buffet luncheon will be available throughout the cruise with a variety of dishes, including vegan and vegetarian selections. Sparkling wine, coffee, tea and sodas are included. Other libations are available for purchase. A DJ will provide entertainment as we cruise.
Redwood City Veterans Memorial Senior Center – The Sunset Room
Get into the Halloween spirit by coming to the VSMC Pumpkin Decorating Party! We’ll be joined by some younger folks from the Young Men’s Service League who can help you with painting or decorating a pumpkin, play some Halloween Bingo or Checkers with you, and will be serving all treats including pumpkin bread, apple slices with caramel sauce, and hot apple cider or coffee. It will be a hauntingly hilarious time for all!
The recently opened Foster City Levees offer beautiful views of the Bay and wetlands. You can choose between a 1 mile walk or a 2+ mile walk. There are bathrooms and benches half way plus coffee at the end.
Join Members at this local gelato spot in Princeton Harbor for gelato or cocoa. This is a no pressure, fun time to connect with other Villagers. Bring a friend!
Veterans Memorial Senior Center - The Gold Star Room
Warm up your singing or humming voice and join us for a singalong with The Ukulele Group! Back by popular demand and featuring our own VSMC member Dianne Weitzel we‘ll sing old-time tunes led by a group of talented ukers. We‘ll wet our whistles with apple cider and some light savory and sweet snacks.

Redwood City Veterans Memorial Center
Join Carole Bumpus on a journey to the south of France on her 70th anniversary tour of the Landing on the Southern Beaches of France with World War II veterans. For ten days, and forty villages, she trekked through the same villages the veterans had liberated and were honored and thanked for their service from literally thousands.

As the holidays approach, an enchanting adventure is on the horizon! We are in the planning stages to purchase tickets for the “Train of Lights” excursion, operated by the Niles Canyon Railway. Ticket sales start on October 7th and sell out quickly!
